The First Irish Examination
The Professional Law School’s First Irish Examination Preparation Course provides an overview of the exam syllabus, past papers, preparatory materials and a guide to the preparation necessary for the examination. Five three-hour classes are held a number of weeks prior to the examination, in which a review of course materials is carried out and students have the opportunity to brush-up their skills in the language.

The course is focused towards the requirements of students who need to further develop their proficiency in the language, and feel that they would benefit from a review of the materials in a lecture-style environment. The fee for this course is €200.

Students who already have a good standard in both written and oral Irish may find that a personal review of the GCD study materials and some practice in spoken language is sufficient for them to reach the standard necessary for the examination. The fee for the course materials is €50.
